The Information Sharing team manage the Devon & Cornwall Police (DCP) and national sharing Agreements. They do not provide advice on, nor perform any, sharing or disclosures of information, nor should they be a point of contact for intelligence disclosures (please see Information/Intelligence Submissions below).
Information Sharing liaise with Force business areas and external partners to advise on the process of creating new sharing Agreements and the Data Protection Legislation that needs to be included. Their remit is to keep accurate records of the sharing Agreements and to ensure they are compliant with current Data Protection Legislation.
Any safeguarding concerns from partner agencies or other forces should be emailed to the Central Safe Guarding team. Non-urgent information/intelligence* can be submitted by completing the 'Share Community Partnership Intelligence' form.
Anybody can submit intelligence via the 'Tell us something you've seen or heard' form where the information will be disseminated to an appropriate department.
*non-urgent information/intelligence is anything not reportable to 999, i.e. there is no immediate danger.
Sharing Agreements are created when sharing takes place between partner organisations on a regular basis and are generally used where there is a two-way flow of information, but not exclusively. They provide details of why the sharing is required, the lawful basis to share, who the sharing can take place between, what information will be shared, and the process for how to share the information.
Sharing of information can take place where there is a lawful basis to do so, as such a sharing Agreement is not necessary to share information. However, the regular sharing of information should be covered by a sharing Agreement.
Our most regularly used sharing Agreements are provided at the bottom of this page.
If an external party wishes to share information with DCP and a relevant Agreement is not available at the bottom of this page, please contact the Information Sharing team using the Contact details below. They will advise whether the requested sharing can be performed via another means already in place, or if a new sharing Agreement is required.
If you require any of the above documents attached in another format please contact your partner lead.
If you require the process flow diagram attached below, in another format please contact the Information Sharing Team.
