This plan brings together all outstanding actions from the ICO's FOI mini-audit (both Forces) in November 2024, the ICO's enforcement notice (Devon & Cornwall only) in July 2024, the ICO's practice recommendation (Dorset only) in December 2024, and the timeliness self-assessment from August 2024. It provides direction and focus for the FOI team and identifies easily achievable improvements in order to drive consistency, efficiency and performance improvements.
The aim for both Dorset Police and Devon & Cornwall Police to be in a good plan in terms of its processes, tools and understanding of demand, the Forces to have more visibility of where demand sits and what is expected of the various people involved, the Forces' to share more information proactively to improve public confidence, and colleagues across other departments to feel informed, trained and requesters to feel better equipped to make requests.
