A hate crime or incident is where the victim or anyone else perceives that the incident has been motivated through hostility or prejudice based on a person’s actual or perceived identity.

Please note where the criminal threshold has been reached this will be a ‘hate crime’

Devon & Cornwall Police take all reports of hate crime seriously and we encourage its reporting to ensure that we may better understand what is happening, where and when.

Where personal details are also provided this helps us ensure that victims receive appropriate support and reassurance in line their specific needs.
