Drugs
Issued 03 November 2026
The Bodmin Sector Neighbourhood Team are proactively looking to tackle issues around illicit drug use and the negative impacts that this has upon our communities. We work closely with partners to tackle the wider issues associated with drug use, and the harm that it can have upon our communities. We have recently closed a further property in Wadebridge following community intelligence reports related to Anti-Social Behaviour and drug use! We rely on information from the community to build a picture of the issue, so if you have information that could help us take more illegal drugs off the street please report it to us or anonymously to CrimeStoppers.

Shoplifting and Retail Crime
Issued 05 August 2026
The Bodmin Sector Neighbourhood Team are proactively tackling prolific offenders within our town centres. We saw an uplift of offending across the sector directly linked to the increase in tourism to the locality. There were 6 reports of shoplifting across Padstow, Polzeath and Wadebridge throughout July. We continue to be proactively patrolling our high footfall areas, and attending locations of commerce to engage with the community and provide high visibility patrols to deter and prevent offending. We will continue to adopt this approach under this priority for the rest of the summer, providing a blended approach of uniformed and plain clothes patrols within our stores to proactively challenge this issue.

Anti-Social Behaviour
Issued 05 August 2026
The beginning of the summer holidays always sees an increase in footfall in our coastal areas in line with the start of the tourist season, and this year was no exception. We put dedicated foot patrols into Polzeath beach and enacted a Dispersal Order for a period of time in the immediate locality which was used to good effect and provided immediate and sustained relief for local residents complaining of anti-social behaviour. Also across this month, our team have conducted at least 40 dedicated foot-patrols in high visibility areas of Padstow and Wadebridge town centres. We will continue to endeavour to maintain our visibility across the summer period, so if you have issues in your local community then please report to us either in person or online.
We take reports of ASB incredibly seriously in our community, and work collaboratively to overcome it. Please see the dedicated pages on our website for support.
