Our Neighbourhood Policing Teams consist of Neighbourhood Team Leaders (police sergeants), Neighbourhood Beat Managers (police officers) and police community support officers (PCSOs) who are accountable to their local community. A key element of the role is to undertake community engagement to understand community concerns and update them on police activity in order to build confidence.
They will work in partnership with teams both within the police (for example alcohol licensing and youth intervention) and externally (local authorities, Environmental Health and registered social landlords) to problem solve community issues. The underlying principle of our neighbourhood policing model is to intervene at the earliest possible opportunity to prevent an escalation of crime and harm.
Anti social driving and speeding within Tiverton
Issued 07 October 2026
We have operated a CCTV van to identify offenders and have worked with vision zero to allocate resources to Tiverton, including the speed enforcement vans. We will continue this work in to Christmas and the New year.

Identifying areas which suffer from the highest amounts of reported anti social behaviour and using a wide range of resources to tackle issues in those problem areas.
Issued 07 October 2026
We have been successful in achieving an Anti social behaviour injunction for a youth who has been causing significant nuisance behaviour within Tiverton and this order will restrict their impact on the community. We will continue to work with partners including cctv operators in identifying ASB incidents early and engaging quickly to challenge people over their behaviour.

Support the community safety partnership in delivering a unified response to patrolling the Tiverton Town Centre hotspot policing area.
Issued 07 October 2026
We remain committed to policing the hotspot policing area in Tiverton. We continue to work closely with Mid Devon Council to identify areas where demand is the highest. We have been unsuccessful in achieving any further funding for the street marshals and their patrols have now stopped. We will, where possible increase our patrol hours within this area.
