Anti Social Behaviour

To work with our local communities to identify areas where Anti Social behaviour is prevalent.
To work in partnership with local councils, housing associations and other organisations, to form problem solving plans to reduce as much as possible any form of Anti Social behaviour.
We will carry out high visibility patrols and engage with those present and to reassure our communities
Where necessary we will use both criminal law and civil injunctions against those who are persistently responsible for Anti social behaviour
March 2026 Update
Reports of ASB help the beat team direct our foot and vehicle patrols. The team have engaged with local community members and key individuals to keep the area safe. Assertive Outreach youth work will be delivered in the area. Increased foot patrols have been delivered in the town and around the multi storey car park in response to driving and noise complaints.

Disruption of drug supply

To identify areas where there drug use takes place, and to identify those involved in both the supply and use of illegal drugs.
To support our communities by providing high visibility reassurance patrols and engage with our communities to identify their concerns.
To engage with our schools and other learning establishments to provide support to them and their pupils
To work with our Police colleagues, councils and other organisations to identify specific areas or persons of concerns and have a proactive response to preventing offending.
March 2026 Update
The beat team have identified locations of focus where work continues with the intel management unit and our Police partners to gather enough information to seek court warrants for search.
Feb 2026 Update
A misuse of drugs act warrants was executed locating drugs and items linked to this type of offence. Intel gathering will continue with targeted patrols.

Shoplifting

We will be engaging with our retail outlets to listen to their concerns, give security advice when required and gather evidence to support any action against offenders.
We will work with our colleagues particularly where children or young people are involved to ensure they are safeguarded as well as being aware of the potential criminality of their actions.
We will deal with prolific thieves using banning letters, civil orders and where necessary the criminal justice system to make them take responsibilities for their actions
March 2026 Update
UKPAC (UK Partners Against Crime) and Auror are collaborating to transform how retail crime is reported and managed in the UK, with Devon and Cornwall Police (DCP) acting as a key partner in adopting this technology. Officers have visited stores to increase awareness and to prevent future offences.
Feb 2026 Update
Arrests of U18 and adult offenders have led to charges for theft. Patrols of the high streets and local communities have taken place in support of our retail outlets. We will continue responding to reports of thefts from our retail community.
