Local Policing Team
Our Neighbourhood Policing Teams consist of Neighbourhood Team Leaders (police sergeants), Neighbourhood Beat Managers (police officers) and police community support officers (PCSOs) who are accountable to their local community. A key element of the role is to undertake community engagement to understand community concerns and update them on police activity in order to build confidence.
They will work in partnership with teams both within the police (for example alcohol licensing and youth intervention) and externally (local authorities, Environmental Health and registered social landlords) to problem solve community issues. The underlying principle of our neighbourhood policing model is to intervene at the earliest possible opportunity to prevent an escalation of crime and harm.

Drug dealing and misuse linked to local harm and community concern. Reduce visible drug activity, safeguard vulnerable individuals, and improve community confidence through sustained partnership.

Conduct targeted patrols and warrants based on community and partner intelligence.
Identify and disrupt drug supply networks and linked ASB.
Work with outreach and support services to reduce harm among users.
Encourage community reporting to build the intelligence picture and support enforcement. -
Priority:
Improving Road Safety to reduce collisions, improve driver behaviour and increase community confidence through visible, intelligence led road policing activity.
Action taken:
Conduct targeted speed checks in identified hotspot areas.
Support and expand Community Speedwatch activity.
Address vehicle related ASB through engagement and enforcement.
Promote road safety awareness through schools and community events. -
Priority:
Reducing incidents of criminal damage, by reducing repeat damage, holding offenders accountable and building stronger community confidence through proactive, partnership led policing.

Conduct targeted patrols in repeat or high-risk locations.
Review CCTV and work with partners to identify and deal with offenders.
Encourage timely reporting and evidence submissions from the public.
Engage with local schools and youth services to address youth related damage.
