Our Neighbourhood Policing Teams consist of Neighbourhood Team Leaders (police sergeants), Neighbourhood Beat Managers (police officers) and police community support officers (PCSOs) who are accountable to their local community. A key element of the role is to undertake community engagement to understand community concerns and update them on police activity in order to build confidence.
They will work in partnership with teams both within the police (for example alcohol licensing and youth intervention) and externally (local authorities, Environmental Health and registered social landlords) to problem solve community issues. The underlying principle of our neighbourhood policing model is to intervene at the earliest possible opportunity to prevent an escalation of crime and harm.
Anti-Social Behaviour
Issued 08 October 2026
We continue to take reports anti-social behaviour seriously. We are working closely with partners to achieve long-term problem solving solutions, providing respite to local communities who have been subject to chronic and persistent anti-social behaviour. Most notably in Bodmin currently we have two live closure orders, banning people from attending specific addresses to remove the issues that have been occurring there. We are only able to take action like this by receiving your information so please continue to report otherwise we don't know and cannot act.

Shoplifting and Retail Crime
Issued 08 October 2026
There were 14 reports of shoplifting with Bodmin for September, which is an increase on the previous month. We continue to be proactively patrolling our high footfall areas, and attending locations of commerce to engage with the community and provide high visibility patrols to deter and prevent offending. We undertake plain clothes patrols through stores to monitor behaviour, identify criminality, and as a result tackle prolific offending.
