Shoplifting and Retail Crime
Action taken:
There were 12 reports of shoplifting with Bodmin for July, which is a slight increase in the previous 28 day period of 3.7%. We continue to be proactively patrolling our high footfall areas, and attending locations of commerce to engage with the community and provide high visibility patrols to deter and prevent offending. We will continue to adopt this approach under this priority for the rest of the summer, providing a blended approach of uniformed and plain clothes patrols within our stores to proactively challenge this issue.

Action taken:
Along with attending multiple local events across the summer months, we have put in 42 dedicated foot patrols to Bodmin Town Centre. We have planned patrols of our wider rural beauty spots and villages to maintain visibility across our communities in the coming weeks as our populations swells during the holiday season. We take reports of anti-social behaviour seriously and work closely with partners to tackle ASB in your communities.
